2,000 years of history
From Roman fort to medieval castle to the world's youngest capital. Cardiff is a living history lesson — layers of civilisation your students can see, touch, and walk through.
3–5 night homestay programmes for schools from France, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Real families, real Welsh culture, real English immersion.
Every itinerary is tailored to your school's curriculum and interests. Here is what a five-day programme looks like — adjusted freely to suit three or four nights too.
Airport or coach transfer to the city. Meet your host families at the welcome point. Orientation walk through Cardiff city centre, settling in, and a home-cooked evening meal with the family.
Guided tour of Cardiff Castle — 2,000 years of history from Roman fort to Victorian Gothic fantasy. Walking tour through the civic centre and arcades, followed by an afternoon exploring Cardiff Bay and the Senedd.
Journey north to Big Pit National Coal Museum — descend 90 metres underground with a real former miner as your guide. Afternoon in the Brecon Beacons National Park: dramatic landscapes, fresh air, and Welsh mountain views.
St Fagans National Museum of History — 100 acres of rebuilt historic buildings from across Wales. After lunch, a behind-the-scenes tour of the Principality Stadium, home of Welsh rugby and one of Europe's great sporting venues.
Farewell breakfast with host families. Time for last photos and goodbyes. Coach or airport transfer home, with certificates of participation and plenty of memories of Wales.
Host Families
Your students stay with carefully vetted Welsh host families — full board, a warm welcome, and daily English immersion. No hotels, no hostels. A real cultural experience where students practise their English at the breakfast table, learn Welsh customs first-hand, and return home with stories no textbook could teach.
Every family is DBS-checked, experienced with international students, and committed to making your group feel at home in Wales.
